Meet Sarah
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like something just isn’t working - no matter how hard you try?
Whether you're facing a life transition, navigating loss, recovering from trauma, or simply feeling disconnected, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and start making sense of things — at your pace, in your way.

I'm Sarah - a counsellor and psychotherapist who believes in keeping things real, respectful, and focused on what you need.
Clients tell me they feel heard, grounded, and more like themselves again after our work together. I bring warmth, honesty, and a calm, steady presence to each session.
Before becoming a therapist, I served in the Royal Air Force as an engineer for eight years. During that time, I experienced trauma and the emotional fallout that came with it — PTSD, depression, and physical symptoms. Counselling changed my life, and that experience led me to retrain, first in psychology and then in counselling and psychotherapy.

Today, I work with individuals and couples from all walks of life, using an integrative approach tailored to each person. I draw on humanistic, trauma-informed, and transpersonal perspectives, and may incorporate creative or practical methods depending on your needs - including REWIND for trauma.

Therapy with me is collaborative and straightforward. You set the pace. You choose the focus. I bring my training, experience, and genuine care to support you as you move forward.

You can bring whatever you need,
anger, tears, confusion, silence,
and it will be met with care, not judgment.
How I Work With You
You might be wondering what therapy with me actually looks like. That’s a fair question - especially if you’ve never had counselling before, or if you’ve tried it in the past and found it too fluffy, too clinical, or just not helpful.

I work in a way that’s straightforward, collaborative, and rooted in respect. I believe that therapy should feel safe, steady, and useful, not like something you have to perform.

An Integrative Approach — Tailored to You

I’m trained as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I draw on a range of approaches and adapt them to suit you, rather than expecting you to fit into one model.

You are the expert in your own life - even if you’ve lost sight of that right now. My job is to support you in making sense of what’s going on, processing what’s been painful, and finding steadier ground.

I draw from several approaches:
-
Humanistic Therapy: at the core of our work is a real, respectful relationship. No judgment, no hierarchy — just space to be seen, heard, and understood.
-
Trauma-Informed Practice: I’m sensitive to how trauma (including complex trauma) shapes the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self. We go at your pace. Nothing is forced.
-
Transpersonal and Existential Approaches: Sometimes the pain we carry is about more than just symptoms — it touches on identity, meaning, purpose, and soul. I hold space for that depth, when you're ready to explore it.
-
Creative and Somatic Techniques: Depending on your needs and interests, we may use tools like Focusing (body-based awareness), Sand Tray (especially useful when words are hard), and the REWIND technique (a gentle, effective approach to processing trauma without having to re-live it).

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

Clients often say that therapy with me feels:
-
Grounded and down-to-earth
-
Emotionally safe, but not passive
-
Honest, even when things are hard to hear
-
Personal — not scripted, not clinical
-
Supportive, without being fluffy
-
Deep, but also practical

A Word About Change

Healing isn’t always linear. Sometimes it’s messy, uncomfortable, or uncertain. But you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we’ll figure out what’s getting in the way — whether that’s a past wound, a present situation, or something harder to name — and we’ll find ways to support your growth, your peace, and your resilience.
What I Can Help With
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons — sometimes because of a clear crisis, and
sometimes because something just feels off. You don’t need a diagnosis, a label,
